Volunteer Space Ltd is a volunteer management technology company based in Newport, South Wales with the mission to revolutionise the way that organisations interact with prospective and existing volunteers.

They make the process of recruitment, management and retention of volunteers simple to manage. Whilst connecting charities with businesses who can benefit from valuable skills-based employee volunteering programmes.

“Volunteering brings with it an array of challenges organisations must face when recruiting, managing and retaining volunteers. Volunteer Space is built to support these organisations, empowering communities to give their time for a cause they care about. The investment enables us to bring about these positive changes and we are proud to have the opportunity to make a real difference.”

Ben Moore, Managing Director

Volunteer Space has identified difficulties faced by a variety of different stakeholder groups that limit the performance of existing volunteering programmes; ultimately leading to higher costs, dissatisfied volunteers and unsafe practices.

Although volunteers by definition provide their efforts without any expectation of monetary gains, they do require recruitment efforts, support and effective management that matches that of paid work.

Volunteer Space has developed an innovative cloud-based management platform that supports organisations with the recruitment, management and retention of volunteers. It captures valuable analytics, streamlines application processes and provides recognition for experience and skills gained through volunteering.

Volunteer Space is a graduate company from the Alacrity Foundation. Since graduating, their headquarters are based at the Wesley Clover Innovation Centre.

“We are delighted to announce the investment this month. Many communities express difficulty building and maintaining successful volunteering relationships due to tedious processes, poor communication and bottlenecks in the volunteering system.

This investment will enable us to grow Volunteer Space into the global networking and management platform for volunteering; reducing barriers to and supporting volunteering on all levels in the community.”
