Sue Poole, CEO & Director, Centre for Entrepreneurial Education (C4ee)

Sue Poole, CEO & Director at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Education (C4ee) introduces the social enterprise and its new project to teach enterprising skills to 5 to 6 year olds.

Swansea-based C4ee aims to help young people in Wales maximise their potential.

Our goal is to trigger an enterprising mindset in young people, engendering an innovative and creative approach to life, and to help them develop the entrepreneurial skills they need to succeed.

We use bespoke workshops, interactive sessions, mentoring and supported competitions to develop entrepreneurial skills and an enterprising mindset in those aged between 5 and 25 years old.

Working with education authorities, schools, and community groups we share best practice and help them to enhance or develop their own entrepreneurial skills and their strategies for young people.

The groups we work with may vary - from delivering to 5 year old children in Primary School to running motivational and inspirational female focussed events, but the message stays the same. You can achieve anything you put your mind to!

Our most recent enterprising offering for young people, is ‘The Bumbles of Honeywood’. The 6 book series and skills programme created for Primary School pupils follows the adventures of The Bumbles of Honeywood- a family of bees, who come up with innovative enterprising solutions to their everyday problems in Honeywood.

The series and skills programme was written in response to the Donaldson Report - which will see enterprise skills being added as a compulsory element to the Welsh national curriculum in September 2017.

Having piloted the series at various Primary Schools across South Wales, we are planning for the series to be rolled out nationwide to ensure all pupils in Wales receive the enterprise education they require to realise their full potential.

September sees the full launch to schools and parents of the set of 6 books and associated enterprise activities, supported by a social media campaign.
