Pioneering Wales: Cymraeg 2050 Technology

'Pioneering Wales: Cymraeg 2050 Technology' is an event to celebrate the innovative technology projects that have received funding as part of the Welsh Government’s Cymraeg 2050 grants.

This event will be held at Cardiff's Tramshed Tech, with Eluned Morgan, the Minister for Welsh Language in attendance.
Each project will give a short demonstration of their app or technology, giving attendees the chance to experience each one.

Projects include -

  • Dementia VR - Welsh language virtual reality experience to increase the understanding of individuals of the experiences of people suffering with dementia.
  • Ap Cwtsh - a Welsh language mindnfullness and wellbeing app.
  • WordNet - a project to construct a WordNet (lexical database) for the Welsh language.
  • Mapio Cymru - Welsh language render of OpenStreetMap that will allow Welsh language mapping of Wales freely under an open licence.
  • Bys a Bawd - an interactive song-based resource for families and children.
  • Wici Caerdydd - aims to increase the number of Welsh language articles available on Wikipedia, and a project to promote the use of Welsh through Snapchat.

2:30pm-3pm - Arrival and teas/coffees
3pm-5pm - Main event and project talks/demonstrations
