We are delighted to have join us as our guest speaker, Nick Proctor, MD Amber Energy. His talk is called - ‘My Journey’. It will include how Nick started his business to where he is now.
Nick Proctor left Loughborough University in 2006 and undertook a graduate role at RBS. On the pathway to success within the banking world, he began to notice that many of his clients had a large energy spend and no real understanding of how to control these costs. Nick researched the industry and found the market place to be overwhelming, with many brokers utilising the complex industry for their own gain. In July 2009 Nick gave up his salary, company car and opportunity for promotion and amber energy was born.
What began as one person in the back bedroom of his father’s home 8 years ago, has now grown into a dynamic and innovative company of 40 staff, recently awarded the fastest growing company in Cardiff and the 10th in Wales. Amber has stayed true to the values it had when Nick started the business; a transparent and honest energy management service providing tailored solutions to the complex world of energy for its clients. Amber energy’s aim is to become the UK’s leading energy management company over the next 5 years, whilst supporting and promoting it’s diversified service offerings; COMM:UNITY, The Student Energy Project and it’s Not For Profit companies; Energy Relief and Power2Africa.
